THE PARISH FOLK GROUP

The Folk Group is made up of musicians of all ages and standards who enjoy playing and singing in order to lead the congregation at the 10.45am Mass at St. Joseph’s. The group plays, on average, twice a month and rehearses at 10.00am on the morning of the service.

Music is provided for each service and is a variety of new, old and traditional, solemn and lively.

The Folk Group  currently comprises of approximately 20 musicians. Apart from our singers we have various instrumentalists. At present we have players on guitar, keyboard, flute, oboe, saxophone, violin, trumpet, trombone and the occasional viola

The Folk Group plays at many of the Church’s most important celebrations. During the past year it has led the First Communion Masses, the Confirmation Mass and the Christmas Eve Family Mass. It joined forces with the choir in the recent Easter Triduum and has played at a wedding!
