SUNDAY EVENING LENTEN LITURGY this Sunday 14th March will take place at St Joseph’s and 21st March at St Edmund Campion Church. The final Sunday Lenten Liturgy will be on Palm Sunday 28th March at St Joseph’s – all at 6.00pm.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS Wednesdays at 7.30pm at St Elizabeth’s and Thursdays at 7.30pm at St Joseph’s (not during Novena). At 9.30am on Good Friday for children.

THE MILL HILL MISSIONARIES ANNUAL NOVENA TO ST JOSEPH: The 6.30pm and 10.45am Masses this weekend will be Novena Masses. The Novena continues into this coming week and Mass will be celebrated at 7.30pm each weekday evening at St Joseph’s - up to and including Thursday 18th March.    All welcome. There will be no 10.00am Mass on the Novena days.

THE FEAST OF ST JOSEPH is on Friday 19th March.  Mass will be at 10.00am.

LENTEN PROJECT - TALENTS MAKE TREASURES:  Françoise will be serving pancakes in the hall this Sunday after 10.45am Mass. All welcome. Joan Boland would like to thank all who participated in the Easter Egg Raffle on Sunday 7th March and helped her raise £46 for the Lenten Project. Many parishioners are using their initiative to turn their talents into treasures – please support their efforts.  There is a display on the Youth notice board in the parish centre corridor.   JAZZ EVENING on Friday 26th March. LENT RETREAT: Saturday, 27th March from 10.30am to 3.00pm to take place at St Joseph’s.  Open to all parishioners.  If interested, please return slip at the end of this newsletter as soon as possible.

SPECIAL MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST:  

The new rota for April/May/June is available from the Sacristy – while you’re there collecting it, please put your name on the list if you can serve at one of the Easter Triduum services.  Alternatively, email the parish office with your preference.  

CONFIRMATION 2010: The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Friday 1st October at 7.00pm at St Joseph’s.  If you are currently in Year 8 or above and would like to join in this year's Confirmation programme, please complete an application form (at both ends of the Church) and return to the Presbytery letterbox in an envelope marked 'Confirmation', as soon as possible.   The programme will start after Easter. CONFIRMATION CATECHISTS: We need catechists to help with the Confirmation programme.  If you are able to help in any way, please contact Fr Tom.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION last weekend was £1 344.45.   Second collection for the Lenten Project was £458.07.  Thank you.  Second collection this weekend is for the Lenten Project. Please note that the   collection for the Clergy Assistance Fund has been transferred from this weekend to Sunday, 18th April.   There are offertory envelopes waiting to be collected from the Repository.

201 CLUB: Congratulations to Mrs K Hohenauer, our March winner of £50.   Reminder to members paying by cash or cheque - payment was due in February.

SAINSBURY'S AND TESCO VOUCHERS: St Mary's School is once again collecting these vouchers - please put any vouchers you can spare in the box at the back of the church.  Also any ‘Advertiser Cash for Schools’ vouchers and any others are more than welcome.  Thank you.

CELEBRATING MARRIAGE 2010: On 12th June there will be a special Mass at St Bede’s, Basingstoke for couples in our diocese celebrating significant wedding anniversaries during 2010.  If you are celebrating your 25th, 40th, 50th anniversary during 2010, or any anniversary over 60 years, please let Fr Tom know as soon as possible so that Bishop Crispian can send you an invitation as attendance will be by invitation only.

PARISH NOTICES

SUNDAY EVENING LENTEN LITURGY this Sunday 7th March will take place at St Luke’s Church, Norfolk Road, at 6.00pm - for the International Taizé Service. On 14th & 28th March at St Joseph’s and 21st March at St Edmund Campion Church – all at 6.00pm.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS Wednesdays at 7.30pm at St Elizabeth’s and Thursdays at 7.30pm at St Joseph’s (not during Novena). At 9.30am on Good Friday for children.

UCM: The next meeting of the UCM will be on Tuesday 9th March at 7.45pm in the Bar Area.  There will be a chance to buy chocolates from Andrea Frate from Chocoholics.  The positions of Treasurer and Secretary for the coming year have still to be filled.

Over the past 50 years, more than £65 million has been raised by ordinary people on Fast Days, transforming the lives of thousands across the world.  Please take an envelope this weekend and see what you can donate by giving up something on Fast Day, and return it next weekend.

Funds raised will be going towards the Lenten Projects (Thames Valley Hospice - GPPA charity; SVP Sudan Appeal and St George's School and Orphanage in Madras - St Edmund Campion charities).  Tickets £8 each to include a glass of wine and will be available on the door on the night or from the Parish office 01628 628274.
